The Lamplighters is a group of accomplished musicians under the Leadership of Bob Smith. They are available as a Duo, Trio, Quartet, Quintet or Sextet playing the Great American Big Band Swing Style.
Ambiance the Duo is a perfect match of rhythm and melody for any setting indoors or out. This unique duo of Clarinet and Bass fits in easily for intimate venues such as restaurants, clubs, tea rooms, cookie cottages, coffee houses and private parties.
The Trio is great for smaller events, small rooms or clubs, coffee houses or private parties playing a smooth swing like style with the addition of a drummer for toe tapping - easy listening or dancing.
The Quartet adds another musician, which makes the music a bit more enthusiastic and can accommodate larger rooms both for private affairs or club situations.
The Quintet or Sextet is suggested for larger engagements, weddings, dinner dances, banquets etc.
The Lamplighters repertoire is a smooth swing style featuring ethnic rhythms, standards, some contemporary selections but mainly the great hits of the thirties, forties, fifties and sixties.
The Dixiecrats offer toe tapping enthusiasm playing New Orleans style Jazz.
A new addition to our mix is a special Show entitled "The Lamplighters Present Swing Trivia". We combine a Tribute to the Swing Jazz Big Band music style with group participation. Trivia questions are queried to the audience which adds a friendly and fun dimension to the concert/performance setting. We also include a handout for the audience to follow along with each musical selection. The Performance is a ninety minute continuous show.
